It’s official — loveelectric is now a Certified BCorp! We’ve joined a global community of businesses committed to doing better for people and the planet, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to share this news with you.

This milestone reflects who we are and the business we always set out to be. A simple mission has driven us: to make electric vehicles affordable and accessible to all, helping accelerate the UK’s transition to Net Zero. Becoming a BCorp is the ultimate validation that we’re doing the right things, for the right reasons.

Why BCorp matters

Earning our BCorp certification was no walk in the park (the process is as rigorous as they come!), but it was worth every step. The BCorp badge represents a commitment to maintaining those high standards long into the future. It’s a promise to our customers, partners and ourselves that we’ll continue to prioritise people and the planet over profit.

As our CEO, Steve Tigar, says, “As a certified BCorp, we're dedicated to making a positive impact that goes beyond the bottom line.” Every decision made and step taken, is in pursuit of a fossil-free future for personal transport. 

Our journey so far

Since launching our salary sacrifice scheme in September 2021, we’ve enabled employees nationwide to reduce their personal carbon footprint by 1.8t CO2e each year, while saving up to 60% on their monthly leases. This was just the beginning. In October 2023, we took another major step by launching reloved™, the first used EV leasing platform for salary sacrifice. This innovation lowered the entry salary for EV ownership from £36k to £26k, opening the door for even more people to get behind the wheel of an all-electric car.

But we didn’t stop there. By offering used EVs through Business Contract Hire, we’ve brought electric vehicles to an even broader market, making them more affordable and accessible to businesses of all sizes. We’ve saved companies and their employees millions in tax, cut tonnes of carbon emissions, and provided endless smiles for miles. 

All of this is rooted in our core mission: to make electric cars affordable for all.
